BAPE Archive Hangtag Label Collage Ape Head Double-Sided Print Tee Oversized Unisex T-Shirt
Thirty Years of Labels. One Silhouette. Both Sides.
Every piece of clothing that has ever left a BAPE store has carried a label. Paper hangtags, woven neck labels, printed care labels, embossed stamps — each one a small document of where the garment was made, what it cost, which season it came from, which sub-line it belonged to. Most people remove them immediately. Some people keep them. A very small number of people keep all of them, from every piece, across every year, and end up with a collection that functions as a kind of unofficial archive of the brand's visual language across time.
This graphic makes that archive visible. The Ape Head silhouette — large format, centre chest on the front, large format centred on the back — is filled entirely with BAPE labels and hangtags from across the brand's history: the orange rectangular paper hangtag that has appeared on every mainline piece since the beginning; the brown wax-seal-style "Bathing Apes" medallion from the early years; the blue collegiate "A Bathing Ape" banner; the round Ape Head sub-line badges in multiple iterations; the mountaineer mascot illustration — goggled, carrying equipment, less frequently reproduced now — that appeared on early season pieces; the small bee emblem from Busy Work Shop; the lowercase "bape" minimal stamp; the triangular "A" mountain logo. Each label is rendered at the scale and proportion it originally appeared at. The effect is a dense, layered surface that rewards looking closely.
White base places the label collage against a deep charcoal interior: maximum contrast, every label reading clearly at distance, the orange hangtag and coloured badges standing out against the dark ground. Black base inverts the relationship: the Ape Head interior becomes pale grey, the labels sit in light rather than shadow, and the whole silhouette appears to glow against the black fabric — the same archive, seen under different lighting conditions, revealing different details.
The graphic appears on both the front and the back. There is no clean side.
