Before the ABC Camo. Before the College Logo. Before the Shark Hoodie and the collabs and the decades of cultural accumulation. There was an ape head and four words: By Bathing Ape. That was the whole thing. That is still the whole thing.

The graphic on this tee is not a variation or a reinterpretation. It is the original mark in its original form — the Ape Head rendered large, rendered centrally, taking up the kind of space that makes it impossible to misread what you are looking at. Brown face, yellow highlight on the brow and eyes, the expression that NIGO described in interviews as something between cool and slightly bored, the registered trademark symbol placed with precision next to the wordmark below. "By Bathing Ape.®" No flight number. No camo overlay. No distortion effect. Nothing added.

There is a specific logic to wearing the archetype rather than the variation. The Shark Hoodie says something about knowing the most sought-after item. The College Logo says something about BAPE's relationship with American collegiate culture. The original Big Head says something simpler and older: that you understand where all of it started, and that you find the beginning sufficient.
