BAPE Camo Shark Shorts

Three Camo Systems. One Shark Face.

Where the ABC Camo Shark Shorts (sold separately) use a bright-base ABC Camo with high chromatic saturation, these three colourways pull from a different register: a deep olive City Camo, a high-contrast yellow-base ABC Camo, and an achromatic City Camo in grey. The shark face graphic is identical in structure across all three — full-width front panel, open mouth, full-colour face with red pupils and red gum line — but the camo ground beneath it shifts the entire reading of the piece. On the olive ground, the face emerges from camouflage. On the yellow ground, it detonates. On the grey ground, the red interior becomes the only colour in an otherwise achromatic garment.

Three Colourways

• Green: olive base, deep military-green patches, near-black forest-green patches; large rounded macro-scale patch format; traditional military camouflage logic without the fluorescent push of the ABC Camo colourway; the lowest-saturation and most wearable configuration of the three; full-colour shark face with black outline, white oval eye patches, red circular pupils, red gum line, white serrated teeth; black elasticated waistband; Ape Head woven label at right leg hem

• Gray: mid-grey base, dark charcoal patches, light grey patches; City Camo in a fully achromatic palette — no colour anywhere on the garment except the shark face; the red pupils and red gum line of the shark face become the sole colour accent on an otherwise monochrome piece, creating a specific tension between the neutral ground and the face graphic that neither the green nor yellow colourway produces; dark grey elasticated waistband; Ape Head woven label at right leg hem; the most versatile colourway for pairing with solid or patterned tops
