BAPE City Camo Glow + Holographic Shark Full-Zip Hoodie - Gray / Black

Two Effects. Two Different Materials. One Garment.

This hoodie runs two separate special-finish techniques simultaneously, each applied to a different part of the garment and operating through a different physical mechanism. They don't interact -- they coexist, with distinct roles and distinct trigger conditions.

On the body: phosphorescent pigment in the City Camo camo blobs. Machine-printed full-body City Camo with large, open Ape Head silhouette blobs. The blobs carry the charge; in darkness, they activate and emit light. The ground stays dark. The body becomes a field of distributed glow points against the unlit base.

On the shark face: holographic film on the eyes, jaw outline, and interior of the open mouth. This is a physical material with a microstructured surface that refracts incident light into its spectrum components -- what you see changes continuously as the light angle or your viewing angle shifts. In daylight, the shark face reads as a moving, colour-shifting surface: purple to blue to green to gold to pink and back, depending on where you are standing relative to the light source. In darkness, the holographic film does not emit light -- it requires incident light to refract. The two effects do not overlap.

Two colourways, both running both techniques:

Gray

Medium grey City Camo ground with warm-yellow-grey blobs -- the warm cast in the blobs is the phosphorescent pigment at rest, visible as a slight colour shift before activation. In darkness, the full blob field activates across the body, hood, and sleeves. The holographic shark face reads at high contrast against the grey ground in daylight -- the iridescent surface sitting against a neutral field makes the colour shift maximally visible. Grey ribbed cuffs and hem.

Black

Black City Camo ground with white and mid-grey blobs. In daylight, the Black colourway presents as a standard high-contrast black-and-white City Camo -- the holographic shark face on the hood is the primary departure from a conventional print, the iridescent surface catching light against the deep ground. In darkness, the white blobs activate, producing the distributed point-glow characteristic of the black-ground City Camo colourway -- bright individual shapes against an unlit field.
