There is a specific quality to a drawing made by someone who knows a subject extremely well but is not a professional illustrator. The proportions carry memory rather than measurement. The lines are confident in some places and searching in others. The result does not look like a reproduction — it looks like a record of looking, which is a different thing.

The Ape Head on this piece is rendered in that mode. Dense hatching in warm brown — short strokes layered in multiple directions to build fur texture and volume, the same technique a fan might use when drawing the logo in a notebook during a class they are only half paying attention to. The face features — brow ridge, nose, the area around the mouth — are picked out in yellow-gold, the two-colour palette holding everything together without adding complexity. Below the head, "By Bathing Ape" in handwritten lettering with a registered trademark symbol: not the brand's official typeface, but the handwritten version of it, the way it looks when someone writes it from memory.
