A Bathing Ape was founded in 1993 in the Ura-Harajuku neighbourhood of Tokyo, in a moment when the city's underground was quietly building what would become one of the most referenced streetwear archives in the world. The Back to School series takes that origin point and runs it through collegiate visual language — the format that American universities and Japanese fashion have traded references with for decades. The result is a left-chest badge that layers three elements into a compact emblem: "BAPE" set in a heavy arched college letterform, each letter filled with 1st Camo in green and olive rather than printed as a solid block; the Ape Head icon centred beneath, also carrying the camo fill; and "A ★ 1993 ★" in small caps below, the star separators and founding year completing the crest. The hand-drawn quality throughout — slightly irregular edges, letterforms that feel sketched rather than typeset — is deliberate, a graphic that reads as designed rather than produced. On White, the camo fill in the letterforms reads with full colour saturation, the greens and olives visible against the clean base.
