"Why are all apes created equal?" It is A Bathing Ape's founding question — a rewrite of the declaration that all men are created equal, substituting apes for men, and in doing so turning a statement of political principle into something more open-ended: a question about sameness, difference, and what it means to belong to a tribe that defines itself by not being like everyone else. For SS25, the phrase appears across the upper back in pixel type — the letterform of 8-bit game screens and early digital displays, each character built from a grid of square dots — followed by a small Ape Head icon beneath. The front carries a single centred line: *A BATHING APE*, the same pixel font, flanked by asterisks, at a scale that reads only up close. Two sides, two registers: the front is a near-invisible signature; the back is the statement you leave behind as you walk away. Both colourways run the same double-sided layout. On Grey, the heather base shows the linen blend's natural texture and the dark pixel print reads cleanly against it.
