The Compass Under the Paint. The Badge on the Sleeve.

Two graphic elements, opposite in character. On the left chest: a small multi-layer print -- a four-point star above, then horizontal paint-stroke bands in mint green and deep navy laid over a fine-line compass rose drawing, over a grey field. The paint strokes are deliberately rough: brushed edges, uneven coverage, the texture of pigment dragged across a surface. The compass beneath them is the opposite -- precise, technical, the kind of line work that belongs on a navigation chart. The contrast between the two is the graphic: industrial mark-making over cartographic precision.

On the left sleeve: the Stone Island badge, square set on a diagonal, compass rose centred. It is the same badge across all three colourways.

The fabric is the other half of the product. Double-brushed plain weave cotton: both faces of the fabric run through a brushing process that opens the fibre surface, producing a fine, dense nap that is softer than standard jersey without adding the bulk of a fleece. The surface reads as matte and slightly textured rather than flat. This is the construction that separates this piece from a standard cotton T-shirt at the same weight -- the hand feel is distinctly different.

Blue

Steel blue / mid-navy ground. The mint green paint stroke reads with high contrast against the blue base; the navy band in the print blends partially into the fabric colour, making the compass and grey field the main visible sub-graphic. The base colour carries Stone Island's consistent maritime reference: blue as ocean, navigation, utility.

White

Clean white ground. All layers of the chest print are fully legible: green stroke, navy stroke, compass line-work, grey field -- the complete graphic hierarchy is visible. The cleanest and most technically readable of the three colourways.

Black

Deep matte black ground. The mint green paint stroke reads as the brightest element against black, taking on a near-fluorescent quality. The navy band recedes into the dark base. The compass detail is the most recessive here -- visible on close inspection, less prominent at distance. The result is a two-tone read at arm's length: black ground, green mark.

The paint covers the compass. The badge identifies the maker. The fabric does the rest.
