Double-Yarn Cotton T-Shirt. Heat-Transfer Print at Front Chest and Full Back. Distressed Vintage Compass Rose Graphic. Two Colours: Black / White.

A Stone Island T-shirt in custom double-yarn cotton, carrying two heat-transfer print applications that together read as an archival-referencing seasonal statement piece: a compact multi-line text stack at the front chest, and an oversized distressed compass rose badge print centred on the full back panel. The two prints share the same design language — Spring–Summer 2026 seasonal identification, compass rose motif, and Stone Island headquarter GPS coordinates — but operate at completely different scales and visual registers.

Front Chest Print — Five-Line Centred Text Stack

The front chest carries a compact five-element centred text stack, heat-transfer printed at centre-chest, slightly below the midpoint of the chest panel. The total print occupies an area of approximately 8 × 4 cm and reads as an understated brand data block at normal viewing distance — visible only at close range, resolving into a fully legible seasonal identification and coordinate field. The five elements, reading top to bottom, are:

Element 1 — Compass Star Icon: A small four-point compass star (two long horizontal arms, two shorter vertical arms, sharp tapered tips) rendered in a clean, simplified form, approximately 1 cm in height. On the Black colourway, this icon is printed in white; on the White colourway, in black. The star sits centred above the wordmark.

Element 2 — Wordmark: STONE★ISLAND — the full brand wordmark in all-caps, with the compass star icon embedded between “STONE” and “ISLAND” as an inline separator. Set in a regular-weight sans-serif typeface with wide letter-spacing.

Element 3 — Seasonal Line: Spring – Summer 2026 — the full seasonal identifier, set in a lighter or italic weight, smaller than the wordmark, confirming this as a garment from the Stone Island Spring–Summer 2026 collection.

Element 4 — Brand Statement Lines: Two lines of smaller text reading:

Engineering and garment
dyeing expertise

Stone Island’s founding technical statement, referencing the house’s specialisation in fabric engineering and garment-dye processes, set in a condensed lightweight typeface.

Element 5 — GPS Coordinates: A single line of the smallest text in the stack, in a condensed monospace-style typeface:

44° 43′ 20.144″ N – 11° 07′ 0.624″ E

The geographic coordinates of the Stone Island headquarters in Ravarino, Modena, Italy. At reading distance the coordinate line requires proximity to resolve; at arm’s length it reads as a numerical data field below the brand statement lines.

Back Print — Oversized Distressed Compass Rose

The full back panel carries the defining graphic element of the garment: an oversized circular compass rose print centred on the back panel, occupying approximately 70–80% of the back panel width from the upper back to the mid-back. The print extends from just below the shoulder seam to approximately the mid-torso on the back panel, making it the largest single graphic element visible on the garment at a distance.

The compass rose design follows the same circular two-element structure as the front print’s compass star, but at this scale the structure is fully resolved into an elaborate badge composition:

Outer Ring — Circular Text Band: A thin outer boundary circle encloses a circular text band in which STONE ISLAND arcs along the upper half (reading left to right, baseline toward the centre) and STONE ISLAND arcs again along the lower half (reading right to left from the viewer’s perspective, effectively rotated 180°), forming a continuous circular repeat of the brand name. The letterforms in the text band are set in a bold, compact all-caps block serif style.

Centre — Four-Point Compass Star with Distressed Texture: The interior of the circular text ring is dominated by a large four-point compass star. Unlike the clean, solid-fill compass star on the front print, the back compass star and the entire circular badge are rendered in a deliberately distressed, aged, cracked-texture style: the print surface shows a cracked ink / weathered screen-print effect throughout the circular badge area, with irregular fracture lines crossing the star arms, uneven ink density, and a granular, degraded-edge quality that reads as vintage or archival. The distressed treatment covers the full circular badge — both the text ring and the star centre — producing an overall visual quality that reads as a faded, worn badge print rather than a fresh graphic.

This distressed quality is intentional and constitutes the primary visual identity of the back graphic. At distance, the oversized badge reads as a bold circular stamp; at close range, the cracked-texture detail resolves fully and the aged graphic language becomes the defining design element of the garment.

Below the circular badge, at the lower back panel, a secondary text block is printed in a small, compact typeface, reading:

Spring – Summer 2026
Engineering and garment
dyeing expertise
44° 43′ 20.144″ N – 11° 07′ 0.624″ E

This secondary text mirrors the front chest print content exactly, placing the seasonal identification and coordinate data as a footer below the dominant circular badge on the back panel.

Fabric

The body is constructed in a custom double-yarn cotton. The fabric exterior presents an extremely smooth, high-density surface with a slight optical sheen and near-zero visible texture at normal distance — at extreme close range, the knit loop structure is visible on the interior face, confirming a dense knit (interlock-adjacent) construction rather than a woven plain-weave structure. The double-yarn construction produces a compact, stable ground with light natural stretch in both directions — more than a rigid woven ground, but significantly less than standard single-yarn jersey. The fabric holds its silhouette cleanly in wear without sagging or distorting across the chest or back panel, providing a stable ground for both print placements.

The fabric sits in the mid-to-upper weight range for a summer T-shirt: substantially heavier and more body-forward than standard jersey, with a composed, semi-structured drape that reads as deliberate and polished rather than casual. The exterior surface light sheen means that the distressed back print — which has a matte, granular ink quality — reads in visual contrast against the fabric ground, enhancing the aged graphic effect.

Construction Details

The crew neckline is finished with a ribbed neckband, approximately 2 cm wide, with a clearly defined vertical rib structure visible at close range. The rear neckline carries a woven Stone Island label — a rectangular white label with the compass star and “STONE ISLAND” wordmark in all-caps. The sleeve hems are finished with a single-needle hem, approximately 0.8 cm wide, producing a clean, flat finish at the sleeve opening. The body hem is finished with a twin-needle hem (two parallel stitch lines), approximately 0.5 cm spacing between lines, producing a reinforced, flat finish at the lower body. No side slit.

Two Colours

Black — deep uniform black double-yarn cotton; front text stack and back distressed compass rose in white ink on black ground; maximum contrast on both placements.
White — optical white double-yarn cotton; front text stack and back distressed compass rose in black ink on white ground; equivalent contrast, with the distressed cracked texture reading clearly against the white surface.
