BAPE 21SS Space Camo Shark Full-Zip Double Hood Hoodie — Glow-in-the-Dark

The Camo Has Always Been Looking Up. This Version Admits It.

Every BAPE camo pattern starts from the same structural premise — organic blob shapes, systematically arranged, with something hidden inside each one. ABC Camo hides the Ape Head. City Camo transposes the palette into an urban key. Space Camo does something different: it keeps the blob structure of ABC Camo and adds a second layer on top of it. Scattered across the entire surface of both colourways, independent of the camo patches beneath them, are blue dots, white star-points, and elongated elliptical star rings. Not printed within the patches. Not part of the camo structure. Laid over it, the way stars exist against a dark field — as separate objects at a different depth.

The glow-in-the-dark finish activates this second layer in darkness. The star elements charge under ambient or UV light and re-emit; on the Black colourway in particular, the effect is close to what it describes: a field of camo that recedes in the dark while the star elements remain visible, suspended above it. The White colourway reverses the logic — the pale ground stays luminous, the blue-grey patches soften, and the star points glow against a surface that is already close to white, producing a more diffuse and atmospheric result. Both colourways are derived from BAPE’s 2021 Spring/Summer collection, the season in which Space Camo was introduced as the primary new pattern — the brand’s first sustained exploration of an extraterrestrial reference as a camo logic, rather than as a graphic detail.

Two Colourways

• White: white base; mid-grey and blue-grey cloud-form camo patches; vivid blue circular star dots and elliptical star rings scattered across the full surface; white ribbing at cuffs and hem; in daylight, reads as a cool, atmospheric camo with an unusual secondary layer; in darkness, diffuse glow across the pale ground with star elements visible at the surface
• Black: near-black base; deep charcoal and mid-grey cloud-form camo patches; white star-points and blue luminous dots scattered across the full surface; grey inner hood lining visible when zipped; black ribbing; the more resolved of the two — the dark ground suppresses the camo in low light while the glow layer reads as a genuine star field; the reference is most legible on this version
