BAPE × 88rising FW25 Rubik’s Cube Ape Head T-Shirt

The Ape Head, Reassembled.

The FW25 BAPE × 88rising collaboration takes the College graphic — arched "A BATHING APE" text with the Ape Head centred below — and replaces the face with a Rubik’s Cube in mid-explosion. The Ape Head's brown silhouette remains visible as an underlying layer: the rounded skull, the eye region, the characteristic proportions. Over it, a cluster of blue-and-white 3D cubes occupies the face position, rendered with full isometric perspective and light-source shading. Three or four additional cubes have broken free from the central structure and float in the space around the figure — the cube is not static, it is in the process of coming apart or being solved. On two of the central cube faces, the letters "R" and "B" are set in Gothic blackletter type: Rich Brian’s initials, and by extension the mark of 88rising, placed at the centre of the BAPE graphic in a typeface that reads as both archival and intentional.

88rising is the Los Angeles-based music label and cultural platform that has defined the global reach of Asian pop music over the past decade — Rich Brian, Higher Brothers, NIKI, Jackson Wang. The collaboration sits at the intersection of Japanese streetwear heritage and the generation of listeners and consumers those artists reach. The Rubik’s Cube as the linking object is a clean conceptual choice: a puzzle with a fixed set of correct solutions, associated with patience, pattern recognition, and a certain kind of obsessive problem-solving — qualities that apply equally to making music, building a brand, and collecting BAPE.

The T-shirt carries a collaboration-specific neck label — white upper section with BAPE branding, yellow lower section referencing 88rising’s identity colour — and the standard green ABC Camo hang tag. The Ape Head woven label appears on the left sleeve.
