The exterior of the jacket is uncompromising in its restraint. The body is solid black heavyweight fleece — no pattern, no print, no surface graphic. The only external mark is the circular Ape Head embroidered badge on the left chest: a single-colour warm bronze-brown Ape Head on a dark ground, stitched into a circular border, sitting small and precise against the black field. At distance it reads as a dark circle with an indistinct centre. At close range, the Ape Head silhouette becomes fully legible.
