World Gone Mad. 1993 to 2093.

The neck label inside this hoodie reads: A Bathing Ape® — World Gone Mad — 1993 to 2093. That is the FW24 season’s central statement — a hundred-year declaration of intent printed on a two-inch strip of woven tape and sewn into the collar of every piece in the collection. BAPE was founded in 1993. The label projects forward to 2093. Whether that reads as ambition, absurdism, or both is left open. What it communicates unambiguously is that the brand is not interested in thinking in seasons. The WGM (World Gone Mad) designation has been part of the BAPE vocabulary since the early years; in FW24 it becomes the collection’s defining axis, and this full-zip hoodie is one of the cleanest ways to carry it.

The exterior of the jacket is uncompromising in its restraint. The body is solid black heavyweight fleece — no pattern, no print, no surface graphic. The only external mark is the circular Ape Head embroidered badge on the left chest: a single-colour warm bronze-brown Ape Head on a dark ground, stitched into a circular border, sitting small and precise against the black field. At distance it reads as a dark circle with an indistinct centre. At close range, the Ape Head silhouette becomes fully legible. This is a deliberate calibration: a badge that communicates brand to those who already know it and disappears completely into the jacket for everyone else.

Two construction details extend the design logic of the exterior beyond the badge. The hood brim carries a white reflective woven pipe trim along its inner edge — a single clean white line that traces the hood opening and becomes fully visible only when the hood is worn up or when light catches it from the side. In flat lay, it reads as a fine white accent; in motion, it activates. The main zipper uses a dual pull-head configuration — two separate silver metal zipper heads, both engraved “bape”, operating on the same chain. The silver zipper teeth trace the full length of the jacket from hem to collar, providing the only metallic element on a garment that is otherwise entirely matte black.
