BAPE Classic College Logo Oversized Heavyweight Unisex T-Shirt

The One That Started It.

Before the camo prints, before the collaborations, before the Shark Hoodie — there was the College Logo. Arched "A BATHING" over the Ape Head, "APE" below. This is the mark that NIGO put on the first BAPE tees in the early 1990s, derived from the collegiate typefaces of American university sportswear that Tokyo was absorbing at the time. It has not changed. The graphic sits at the left chest, palm-sized, positioned where a badge or breast pocket would be. The rest of the shirt is clean. Four colourways, each with the print calibrated to the base: White and Beige carry the logo in black; Black and Navy carry it in white. The sleeve badge tracks the same logic — on White and Beige, the round camo patch has a dark ground; on Black, the patch is white; on Navy, the patch carries a gold circular ground against the dark base. The fabric is 280gsm linen-cotton blend, cut oversized with a dropped shoulder. If you wear one BAPE piece for the rest of your life, it should probably be this one.
