The Snaps Are the Detail.

Most hoodies use hardware only where they have to: a zipper if it opens, a drawstring if the hood needs adjusting. This one uses hardware as an intentional design element on a garment that is otherwise completely clean. Two black metal snap buttons sit at the lower corners of the kangaroo pocket. Three snap buttons run across the hood base at the collar. No zipper, no drawstring — just the pocket, the badge, and the snaps. That restraint is the point.

The silhouette is an oversized drop-shoulder pullover. The hood is wide and unstructured, sitting away from the head rather than conforming to it, and falls naturally without a drawstring to cinch it. The kangaroo pocket spans the lower front in the standard single-opening format, but the two snap buttons at its corners add a secondary hardware rhythm that the eye reads against the badge on the sleeve. The result is a garment where all visible metal elements — pocket snaps, collar snaps, badge hardware — are black, and the only exception is the gold compass rose on the SI badge itself.

The fabric is a smooth heavyweight cotton fleece: flat-surface, dense, with no heather or marl texture. This is a different material register from the zip-up hoodie in this line, which uses a mixed-fibre marl fleece. The weight reads as outerwear-adjacent — substantial enough to wear as a single layer in cool conditions.

Clean light grey in smooth cotton fleece. The black snap hardware is clearest in this colourway — three buttons along the collar line and two at the pocket corners all read sharply against the pale ground. The gold compass provides the single warm-toned element in an otherwise cool, monochrome composition.

Pink (Blush)

Warm blush pink in the flat-surface cotton fleece. The smooth texture gives the pink a clean, solid appearance without the visual complexity of a marl or heather finish. The black snap buttons create a distinct contrast accent against the soft pink ground — more visually active than the same hardware would read on a dark colourway.

White

Bright white in smooth heavyweight cotton fleece. The black snap buttons are at maximum contrast in this colourway: three across the collar, two at the pocket. The gold compass badge provides the secondary contrast point. The flat, white surface shows the construction lines of the pocket and ribbing with high clarity.

Black

Pure black smooth fleece. The snap buttons read as nearly tonal — black hardware against a black ground, visible primarily as dimensional elements (the raised dome of each snap) rather than as colour contrast. The gold compass rose is the sole high-contrast element. The three collar snaps and two pocket snaps are present but quiet. Maximum reduction.

Beige (Cream / Off-White)

Warm cream — more yellow-toned than the White, richer and warmer than a pure neutral. The smooth cotton fleece gives the beige a clean, solid tone with none of the graininess of a mixed-fibre fabric. The black snap hardware sits at medium contrast against the warm ground, and the gold compass badge reads as a natural complement to the warm base tone. The most approachable and seasonless colourway in this range.
