The defining design feature of this jacket is its diagonal geometric panel seam system: a series of angled seam lines run across the entire front body from the upper left toward the lower right, with the most prominent line cutting from the left shoulder and collar region diagonally down to the right side at waist level. This single dominant diagonal becomes the visual axis of the jacket, with secondary seam lines extending from it to create a geometric panel layout across the chest and lower body. The construction reads as architectural rather than decorative — the seam lines are structural, creating distinct fabric panels across the front.

The pocket openings are integrated into the diagonal panel seam lines: the left and right hand pockets open along the angled seam edges, with the pocket entries running diagonally in alignment with the overall seam direction. These are open slip pockets — no zip closure at the pocket opening — with the entry concealed within the panel seam, making the pockets nearly invisible in the overall geometry until used. The hem drawcord ends are the sole visible accent at the lower hem. The compass badge carries the standard yellow-green graphic on black ground — the sole colour accent on the all-black exterior.
