Both placements draw on the same graphic vocabulary — the Stone Island four-point compass star rendered in a liquid drip / melt-drip treatment that extends the conventional badge silhouette with downward-flowing drips, creating an expressive, graphic-forward reading of the brand’s signature icon. The flock application produces a raised, matte velvet-pile surface that contrasts directly with the smooth face of the terry-back fabric. Both colourways carry identical blue flock artwork.

Left Chest — Dripping Compass Star Flock

A compact four-point compass star is applied at the left chest, approximately 8–10 cm in height, in solid royal blue raised flock. The star form has sharp, elongated points: the north–south vertical axis is significantly longer than the east–west horizontal axis, giving the star a tall, needle-like profile rather than a symmetrical cross. The star is filled entirely as a flat solid flock shape with no outline, no gradient, and no layering.

At the base of the star (the south point), the lower tip extends into a liquid drip / melt-drip motif: the south arm dissolves downward into two to three irregular teardrop-shaped drips, the lowest terminating in a full, rounded pendant drip drop. The drip forms are organic and fluid, consistent with a paint-melt or melting-wax aesthetic. The overall left-chest mark reads as a modified Stone Island compass star — immediately brand-legible — with a graphic art / streetwear-inflected drip treatment applied to the lower arm.

Centre Back — Dripping Compass Badge Flock (Large Format)

The centre back carries a large-format circular compass badge in solid royal blue raised flock, positioned at mid-to-upper back height, with a diameter of approximately 20–22 cm. This is the dominant graphic element of the garment.

Outer Circle Frame: A solid circular border ring in royal blue flock, approximately 3–4 mm stroke width, forms the outer perimeter of the badge. The ring is clean and consistent in line weight.

Text Ring — Four-Quadrant Arc Layout: The badge interior is divided into four quadrants by the compass star arms. Drip Treatment — Breaking the Badge Boundary: The defining feature of the back badge is the liquid drip motif applied at the base of the compass star, which does not remain contained within the circular badge frame. The south arm of the compass star dissolves into a series of three to four downward-flowing drip forms that pass through the lower arc of the outer circle ring and extend below the badge perimeter onto the bare fabric. These external drip forms vary in length and thickness — some are elongated narrow streams, others terminate in rounded bulbous drops — and the lowest descends several centimetres below the badge edge. The drip forms are entirely in royal blue flock. This breach of the circular badge boundary is the most visually distinctive element of the graphic: the badge appears to be “melting” or “bleeding” downward, transforming a conventional enclosed logo into a dynamic, open-ended graphic statement. Flock Application — Raised Velvet Pile: Both the chest star and the back badge are applied in a standard electrostatic flocking (raised flock) process. The flock surface presents as a dense, uniform matte velvet pile with no sheen or shine. The pile height and density are consistent across the full extent of both placements, including within the fine drip details. Edges are sharp and precisely defined. The raised flock surface provides a clear tactile contrast to the smooth woven face of the terry-back fabric underneath, making the graphic legible both visually and by touch.

Fabric

The body is constructed in a custom terry-back cotton. The exterior face is smooth and flat — the looped terry pile faces inward, giving the garment its interior warmth and weight while maintaining a clean, non-textured outer surface that does not compete with the flock graphic. The fabric is substantial in weight, with the body and drape consistent with a mid-to-heavyweight autumn–winter sweatshirt. It holds its shape well across the chest and shoulders without stiffness. The off-white colourway is an off-white / cream tone rather than optical white; the black colourway is a deep, uniform black.

Construction Details

The crew neckline is finished with a wide ribbed neckband approximately 3–3.5 cm in height, standing slightly higher than a standard crewneck to provide additional neck coverage without reaching mock-neck height. The rib structure is clearly defined, with consistent vertical rib columns in a matching tone. A woven Stone Island label (rectangular, white ground, STONE ISLAND wordmark with compass star, standard brand format) is applied at the centre rear neckline, visible on the exterior.

Sleeve cuffs are finished with a wide ribbed cuff approximately 4–5 cm in height, providing a clean, structured closure at the wrist. The sleeve set is a standard set-in sleeve with the shoulder seam positioned at the natural shoulder point. Sleeve length reaches the wrist at the cuff.

The body hem is finished with a wide ribbed waistband approximately 5–6 cm in height, sitting flat and even at the lower body with no side slits. The overall silhouette is relaxed, straight, and slightly boxy — a broad, easy fit through the chest and body consistent with the unisex positioning of the garment.
